National Inter religious convention to be held in Colombo

The 2012 National inter religious convention is to be held on the 16th June 2012 at the Sri Sambuddhathwa JayanthiMandira from 9am to 3pm.The convention is part of a project titled "Enabling Humanitarian solutions through multi religious cooperation and cohesive community engagement"

The 8th meeting of the Inter Religious National Secretariat for "Enabling Humanitarian Solutions through Inter Religious Cooperation and Cohesive Community Response" and the progress review meeting of the Inter Religious Council was held on May 27th and 28th 2012 at Janaki Hotel, Colombo.

Northern Province Inter-Religious Conference - Mannar

Under the NPC project “Enabling Humanitarian solutions through Multi religious Cooperation and Cohesive Community Response in Sri Lanka”  the Northern Province inter religious conference was held at Gnanodaya Hall, Mannar on 10th May 2012 from 9.00am to 3.00pm
39 inter religious leaders and 71 civil society leaders representing the District Inter-Religious Councils of Jaffna, Mannar, Vavuniya and Puttalam participated this conference. Rev. Rayappu Joseph, Bishop of Mannar participated as the chief invited guest.

“Proposals on improving the living conditions of women and children within a war atmosphere” was consensually approved on the 28th of April, 2012 at the Southern Province Inter-Religious Conference held in Hasara Hotel, Galle.

Northern Province Inter-Religious Conference in Mannar

The Northern Province Inter-Religious Conference will be held on the 10th of April from 9.00am to 2.00 pm at Gnanodaya Hall, Mannar under the project “Enabling Humanitarian solutions through Multi religious Cooperation and Cohesive Community Response in Sri Lanka” of the National Peace Council.
50 religious leaders and 50 community leaders representing the District Inter-Religious Councils of Jaffna, Mannar, Vavuniya and Puttalam are scheduled to participate in this event.

Training workshop on Media and Advocacy

With the main objective of improving the capacity of the staff of various NGOs, this workshop on Media and Advocacy was held on 24th April at NPC auditorium. The Staff of South Asia Partnership Sri Lanka (SAPSRI), Social, Economical and Environment Developers (SEED), Peace and community Action (PCA), Jaffna Social Action Centre (JSAC) and National Peace Council (NPC) participated this workshop.
